Gifts raised during Library Giving Week directly support Summer @Your Library (S@YL) and similar programming for readers of all ages.
Last year, nearly $30,000 was raised by people like YOU to support S@YL! This system-wide program is largely funded by the Library Foundation through your generous donations. There are programs, supplies and incentives that simply would not exist without financial support from donors - every dollar counts.
S@YL provides a much-needed benefit to county children by enhancing reading habits and preventing the “summer slide” by preparing children for the upcoming school year. Adults love this program because S@YL provides encouragement and motivation to pick up books during summer vacation. Parents and caregivers love this program because it provides fun, engaging, educational and recreational events that celebrate reading, art, music, nature and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. In 2023, S@YL hosted over 1,881 programs for more than 78,000 county residents. These events are the highlight of summer break - give as generously as you can to do all of this and more in 2024!
