Whereas, Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) Board of Trustees appreciates the advocacy of the Anne Arundel County Veterans Affairs Commission to ensure veterans and military families are comprehensively served and recognized by the library and; Whereas, Anne Arundel County Public Library Board of Trustees recognizes the tremendous sacrifice of our county’s veterans and active-duty military members and the ultimate sacrifice given by countless county residents and; Whereas, AACPL is proud to provide educational and recreational programs, materials and resources for military families and veterans at all 16 branches and online and; Whereas, AACPL is proud to work with veterans-centered organizations such as Blue Star Families, VA Maryland Healthcare System and Maryland Department of Veteran’s Affairs along with a number of Ft. Meade groups and U.S Naval Academy to provide and share information and services to local military families and veterans and; NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES, do hereby recognize the importance of Memorial Day and Veterans Day at AACPL and call upon all of our citizens to understand the significance and solemnity of these days.
