Overdue Fines Policy

All items checked out from Anne Arundel County Public Library are exempt from overdue fines.  

AACPL Library staff will make every effort to work with customers to recover lost items and fees. 

A.     Overdue 

• Overdue notices are sent by email or text message only. 

B.     Delinquent Accounts 

• Customers’ accounts that are in a blocked status must pay 20% of the total bill fine amount owed to continue borrowing material at each checkout. This includes accounts in collections. 

C.     Collection Agency 

• Library card accounts with fines or fees of $50.00 or more may be referred to a collection agency. A service charge to recover the collection agency fee is also assessed.
