(February 10, 2025 – Annapolis, Md.) The Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) Board of Trustees is seeking two new members for the 18-person body. One position available is for a full-term trustee, while the other is for a one-year student member. Interested applicants may apply starting today through March 7.
Both board positions must be filled by residents of Anne Arundel County. Interested full-term member candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest by email to boardmember@aacpl.net. The student member position is open to rising high school juniors or seniors, and is available to public, private and homeschool students. The AACPL Board of Trustees is the library’s governing body comprised of volunteers representing all areas of the county. Trustees come to their volunteer roles with a range of experiences and backgrounds and a strong desire to ensure the long-term vitality of our public libraries. The library’s board meets monthly at 4 pm on the third Thursday of each month with a break in June and July. Meetings, open to the public, are held at various libraries around the county or virtually.
Finalist interviews will occur in early April, and the Board of Trustees will vote on the new member during their May 16 meeting. A board member’s term is three years with the option of renewing for two additional three-year terms and the student member’s term is one year. Terms will commence on August 21.
