Little Free Pantry

In partnership with Caring Cupboard, we have a Little Free Pantry! The mission of the Caring Cupboard program is to try to ensure that no citizen, and especially children, in Anne Arundel County suffers from food insecurity or hygiene issues of any kind and for any reason through providing food and basic necessities. We are proud to host a Caring Cupboard and we welcome community members to take what they need and donate what they can. Our Little Free Pantry is located in the second median across from the library entry.

Enslaved People of Crofton Monument

Enslaved People of Crofton Memorial

This monument honors and recognizes the Enslaved People who toiled on local plantations and built our county from 1634 - 1864. It was created for an Eagle Scout project and sits to the left of the Crofton Library doors near the flag poles.

Whites Hall, known as the birthplace of Johns Hopkins, was built around the 1780s. Whites Hall stretched over 500 acres, with most of the farmland being used to grow tobacco employing slave labor. Whites Hall was a private home until about 12 years ago.

The Linthicum Walks property dates back to 1672. In its time as a farm, it stretched over 200 acres of land, which fell in and out of the Linthicum family over the years. Today it stands as a historic monument just off of Davidsonville Road.

Middle Plantation was constructed around the 1790s, with the 600 acre property being originally patented to Mareen Duvall in the 1660s. The house stayed in the Duvall family, with a historical marker being added in 1959.

Art Exchange Box

Chesapeake Arts Center Art Exchange Box at CRO is painted black with various shapes painted green, yellow, and blue

Art Exchange Boxes provide a wonderful opportunity for community engagement and creativity. These boxes allow community members to “take art and leave art,” or art supplies, fostering creativity in an interactive and accessible community space.

Chesapeake Arts Center constructed several Art Exchange Boxes to be placed at locations in West and North Anne Arundel County throughout the summer and fall of 2024.
