Young Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz and embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard, who can return her to her home and fulfill the others' wishes.

This essential film is 10th on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest American films of all time.

The film won 2 Academy Awards in 1940 including the Oscars for Best Music, Original Song for "Over the Rainbow", and Best Music, Original Score. It was also nominated for 3 other categories including Best Picture, Best Art Direction, and Best Effects/Special Effects.
