Program Description

Event Details

Nalbinding predates knitting and crochet by several thousand years with variations found around the world. A blunt needle and lengths of yarn are used to create fabric by making interconnected loops. In this program, participants will get a short history of nalbinding. They will learn starting, adding new yarn, creating rows and finishing using Oslo stitch. Oslo is one of the simplest stitches and a good foundation for learning more complicated stitches.

The students will make a small wrist warmer to take home. No previous experience with knitting or crochet is needed! Left handers are welcome.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters are available with advanced notice for library-sponsored programs. To schedule an interpreter, complete this request form at least one week prior to the event date. For questions, email programming@aacpl.net.
