Severna Park Library's Guys Book Club was excited to meet in person on Wednesday, October 20 for the first time in 20 months! We at AACPL are so glad they were able to do so since they were also celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the group's formation. Interested in joining? Guys Book Club typically meets once a month midweek from 7 pm to 8 pm, at the Severna Park Library.
According to Andy Wolverton, the Severna Park librarian who conceived of and runs the group:
"It's been such a privilege to watch this book club grow from two or three people back in 2011 to a vibrant roster with over 50 members, many of whom still contribute to the group virtually and in person. As I told the guys at our 10th-anniversary meeting a couple of weeks ago, I'm honored to be the facilitator of this group and love the way the book club has built community, bringing together guys who otherwise might never have crossed paths. I hope we can keep this group going for a long, long time!"
If you would like to learn more about the group, here is a list of upcoming Guys Book Club meetings, with book selections ranging from Still Life by Louise Penny to The Stranger in the Woods by Michael Finkel. You will be warmly welcomed!
