Lost Faces, Forgotten Heroes: Finding Photos for Marylanders on the Vietnam Wall

Stevenson University professor Glenn Johnston will discuss a research project involving his students and Maryland Public Television. Their mission: to locate a photo of every Marylander who lost their life while on military duty in Vietnam. Hear the story of the search, sources involved, and the stories of the men whose pictures were sought.

Severna Park resident and Gold Star Mother, Ms. Jeannette Middleton Sudano, will talk about what her son, Airman First Class Nathaniel McDavitt, would want us to know about his purpose and service in the Air Force. We'll also hear from Dana Burl from the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs and Joy Ashcraft from Maryland's Commitment to Veterans for the Maryland Department of Health, as they discuss their programs and Veteran services.

Veterans' Healing Arts

Join Head Chef & Meditation Teacher, Peter Brooks, as he demonstrates how to help us more effectively manage the stress of our times. His classes incorporate Tibetan singing bowls, Hindu mantras, and Native American songs. These sessions are geared towards veterans, but open to all.

- Military Family Resource Center at Severn Library
The Military Family Resource Center housed at the Severn Library is a collection devoted to helping service members and their families navigate pre- and post-deployment life.
- CAC Readers
Anne Arundel County Public Library now offers CAC Readers for in-library use at our Maryland City at Russett, Severn and Odenton locations. Customers may use the CAC Reader on the library’s computers or on their own laptops/devices to access their work email, or other encrypted online resources.
- Fold3
Fold3 by Ancestry Library Edition provides access to U.S. military records, including the stories, photos and personal documents of those who served.
- Military and Intelligence Database (Gale)
The Military and Intelligence Database from Gale provides library customers with access to scholarly journals, magazines and reports covering all aspects of the past and present military affairs.
