ReDawn by Brandon Sanderson and Janci Patterson is a book about Alanik, who has visited the humans on Detritus and found out that they were trying to bargain with the Superiority to keep their freedom. The story picks up with Alanik on her home planet, ReDawn, while the Unity political faction is trying to take over the planet and negotiate peace with the Superiority. Alanik goes for help to rescue her friends and family that are stranded on an outpost.
The book includes familiar characters like Jorgen, FM, and Rig, while they continue to figure out how the hyperdrives work. I recommend reading the books before this, Skyward and Starsight to get the full backstory, and Cytonic if you want to see what Spensa is doing at the same time. The characters have life-like tendencies and relationships like Jeshua being motivated by trying to keep everything under her command, and Alanik just trying to help. There are many action-packed scenes like battles, hyperjumps, and more! There is also a sizeable amount of humor in the story, keeping you smiling and entertained. I recommend this book to any person who enjoys reading science fiction or dystopian fiction. Fans of the previous books will enjoy this novella as well.
