Greg is back again with another story and this time he’s playing sports. Several books ago, he played soccer and so now it’s time for a new sport.
Since he is not a sports person, he does what he can to try and get out of it. He eventually gets on the sports team but the team is terrible at the sport. Not even the coach can train them to get better, which is kind of funny if you think about it. To make matters worse, the best player on the team has to quit because of an incident. I find it funny that Greg can be good at sports “accidentally” depending on the situation.
This new book by Jeff Kinney is particularly funny because some parts are relatable to today’s generation. For example, Greg and the team rediscovered their childhood and recreated some fun memories. I also love Greg’s way of thinking even though the characters disagree with him sometimes. He makes really good points but is usually shot down by adults. Anyone who likes the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise, like me, is sure to like this book as well. I also recommend this book to people who like to laugh.
