Aru Shah and the Nectar of Immortality by Roshani Chokshi is the fifth and final book in the Pandava series, where the race to get to the Nectar of Immortality before the bad guys concludes.
In the first book, Aru Shah accidentally releases the Sleeper, an ancient demon, who wants to bring the end of time. She is then informed that she is an incarnate of one of the Pandava brothers, legendary warriors from old Hindu mythology, and has to find the other Pandavas to stop the Sleeper.
If you’ve enjoyed reading Rick Riordan’s series’, I would highly recommend this series, since it is presented by Riordan and has a very similar writing style. The writing was very engaging, and the characters that you get to meet along the way felt very real and well made. I could tell that the author was describing these characters as herself, because I could relate to each of them in many aspects.
I really enjoyed the humor; the author did not hesitate to add references and jokes. I didn’t get all of them, but it was fun to see them. I do not want to spoil the ending, but I do think it was pretty satisfactory.
As I said before, anyone who has read Rick Riordan will definitely enjoy this series.
