Event Details

Whether you are in the healing profession or a caretaker for a loved one, compassion fatigue is a real and challenging experience. Walking with patients and loved ones as they experience physical, emotional, cognitive, and lifestyle changes related to illness, can bring up our own stories of loss. As the length of our caretaking continues, it can be difficult to remain present and empathetic as our experience of our patients and loved ones suffering becomes more intense.

The Maryland Doula Collective works with you to learn strategies for limiting burnout and compassion fatigue. Through mindfulness, somatic awareness guidance, and personal boundaries our doulas support you to continue living and loving to the fullest.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters are available with advanced notice for library-sponsored programs. To schedule an interpreter, complete this request form at least one week prior to the event date. For questions, email programming@aacpl.net.
