Program Description

Event Details

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a holiday that is celebrated worldwide. It is observed by Hindu, Sikh, Jain, and some Buddhist communities. Diwali is a time of joy, gratitude, and hope and typically lasts for five days.

Join us to watch a short video about Diwali and then we will create a diya lamp paper circuit card. A diya is an oil lamp used during the holiday and symbolizes the triumph of good and light over evil and darkness. This STEAM activity is best suited for elementary aged children. Homeschoolers welcome!

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters are available with advanced notice for library-sponsored programs. To schedule an interpreter, complete this request form at least one week prior to the event date. For questions, email programming@aacpl.net.
