Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson is the second book in the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series. It follows the protagonist, Pippa Fitz-Amobi, as she gets involved in another mystery except this one is much closer to her. After her friend goes missing, she decides to use her investigative skills to find them.
As she digs deeper into the mystery, Pippa uncovers secrets and lies that challenge everything she thought she knew. My favorite aspect of the story is that we were left in the dark just like Pippa, meaning we don’t know what is going to happen before she does. Instead, we find things out with her. Holly Jackson maintains a suspenseful atmosphere, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as they try to unravel the mystery alongside Pippa.
One thing I disliked about this book is that it takes a while for it to get interesting. It took me a long time to get into the storyline but it was worth the wait because as the book went on, I found it hard to put down. Overall, the book’s clever plot twists, engaging storytelling, and suspenseful nature made this an enjoyable read.
