Mr. Best is currently the Town Attorney for Upper Marlboro, Forest Heights, North Brentwood, Cottage City and Eagle Harbor in Prince George's County. He primarily practices law in the areas of municipal, administrative, business, real property, landlord-tenant and land use law. He began his career practicing in the area of zoning and land use law.
He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Sciece degree in 1985, the George Washington University with an Master of Public Administration degree in 1994, and the University of Baltimore School of Law with a Juris Doctor in 2003. Mr. Best is a retired Marine Corps infantry officer and currently holds a commission as a Lt. Colonel in the Legal Directorate of the Maryland Defense Force. He previously served as Director of Legal Services at the Maryland Municipal League.
Mr. Best is admitted to the Bar in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the Maryland Municipal Attorney's Association, the International Municipal Lawyers Association and the Bar Associations of the District of Columbia, Maryland, Anne Arundel County and Prince George's County.
