The Boxer, by JH, is a fictional action graphic novel that begins following the professional boxer coach, K as he searches for one last person to coach before he retires. When K goes to a boxing gym that his friend owns in search of someone to coach, he sees a young boxer with a lot of talent. However, what really catches his eye is a boy in the alley getting beaten up. K follows his intuition and decides to coach that boy, and the story (and rest of the series) follows Yu as he works towards becoming the best boxer.
Personally I really enjoyed this book and the rest of the series is very good as well. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys action or sports manga. I have always been partial to fantasy books, but I enjoyed the boxer a lot. I also would recommend it to anyone who hasn't read a manga or webtoon before, because it can be an eye opening experience to many. My favorite part in the book was when Injae stands up to his bullies and finally fights back, which marks a turning point in both the story and his personal character arc. I can't wait to read the next book because I really enjoyed the first.
