This October, Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) is celebrating Family History Month. You may already know that your library card gives you free access to premium resources like Ancestry Library Edition, Heritage Quest, and the archives of thousands of newspapers from around the world. This fall, genealogists also have a wide selection of events at several libraries to choose from, too. Go beyond the basics at Severna Park on October 4, or learn to incorporate message boards and social media into your research at Odenton on October 13. Get tips and tricks for using the library's online resources at Mountain Road on October 19 or learn to best use family photos to illustrate and enliven your research at Edgewater on November 18. No matter if you are just beginning to research family history, or if you have been being doing so for years, the library has a program for you! Remember, so events do require advance registration, so give us a call to reserve your spot if necessary. Is there a genealogy program you would like to see at the library? Let us know in the comments!
