Foundation’s Annual Fund Helps Make Your Library Better

#YourLibraryBetter
Each year, the Library Foundation makes a year-end appeal to our friends via our Annual Fund. The Annual Fund’s purpose is to help our librarians and staff enhance and improve Library services. We depend on the generosity of donors to help us best meet the knowledge needs of all county residents. Dollars raised through the Library Foundation’s Annual Fund purchase many things not covered in our county-supported budget, yet very much needed. We take pride in helping to enhance our customer’s library experiences whether visiting in person or using our online resources.

So far in 2016, the Library Foundation has funded the revamping of the children’s area at the Severn Community Library; purchased new furniture for the children’s area at the Glen Burnie Regional Library; supplied thousands of prizes for families taking part in the Summer Reading Program; provided branches with more of the popular pre-loaded Playaway Launchpad tablets; and purchased needed materials and supplies for the hundreds of librarysponsored programs in the branches. Have you attended a movie at your branch? The Library Foundation provides the license to show it. These are just a small sample of the many much needed enhancements the Foundation’s Annual Fund makes possible.

You can contribute to the Annual Fund by making a cash pledge or donation; by making a gift in memory of a loved one or colleague; or by making a gift of stocks, bonds or even real estate. You can also contribute through workplace giving: we participate in the Maryland Charity Campaign, the Chesapeake Bay Combined Area Federal Campaign and our United Way number is 65778. Don’t forget to see if your employer matches gifts.
