Mr. Bles graduated from the American University in Washington, D.C. He subsequently earned Master of Arts degrees from both the American University and Central Michigan University. In addition to an academic year abroad at the University of Munich, he graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Navy War College.
Mr. Bles has served in both the U. S. Marine Corps and the United States Army: his last assignment was as a special project officer in direct support of Reserve and National Guard families affected by the Gulf War. He was also responsible for varied assignments in recruiting, retaining and training reservists, and participated in several major mobilization exercises including Desert Shield/Desert Storm operations in the Middle East.
After twenty-one years of dedicated service as the Inspector General of a youth antidrug program, the Young Marines, he left the organization for retirement.
Mr. Bles is actively involved in numerous US veterans’ organizations, the Maryland City Civic Association as well as many other worthy causes.
